IAMSE is pleased to invite you to join us for the Fifth Annual IAMSE Virtual Forum. The Forum will take place October 20-22, 2026. Join us as we engage with a diverse network of international health science educators to gain insights from the global community.
Join us at the IAMSE 2026 Virtual Forum as we reframe educational success, moving beyond single metrics toward a holistic interpretation of learner and educator growth.
Together, we will explore the transformative power of second chances, reframing failure and remediation as compassionate “on-ramps” and “off-ramps” for professional development.
This requires designing holistic programs centered on growth-oriented assessment, feedback, and proactive learner support.
Ultimately, we will examine what it means to redefine competence—building the professional identity, collaborative learning, and resilience needed to thrive in an AI-shaped world.
Sub-Themes
Designing Holistic Programs: Growth-Oriented Assessment, Feedback, and Learner Development:
- Focusing on holistic, growth-oriented assessment and feedback, this subtheme explores strengths-based approaches and longitudinal mentorship to support continuous learner progress.
- It explores how integrated program design can leverage adaptive learning and second-chance pathways to create meaningful opportunities for reflection, skill-building, and long-term development.
- Explores how structured mentoring can align learners’ strengths and aspirations with career pathways, broaden specialty exposure, and reduce barriers to entry and progression.
Proactive Learner Support and Recovery:
- This subtheme explores proactive learner support and recovery by framing remediation, accommodations, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as compassionate pathways for student success.
- From both educator and student perspectives, it addresses the critical role of professional development and faculty resilience in fostering inclusive, adaptive environments that champion second chances.
Redefining Competence: Professional Identity, Collaborative Learning, and Resilience in an AI-Shaped World:
