Connecting with a Mentor ...

Under the leadership of Sana Loue and Guilia Bonaminio, IAMSE is considering launching a mentoring programs for members. If we proceed, all IAMSE members would be able to reach out to a pool of colleagues who have agreed to serve as mentors for short-term or long-term needs. We’re looking to the current membership to gauge interest and availability of mentors.

Connecting with the Annual Meeting ...

And with the new year beginning, we are getting closer to the 2015 IAMSE Annual Meeting. Registration should open soon for the meeting to be held June 13-16, 2015.

Keep your eyes on http://www.iamseconference.org for details.

In the meantime, start planning your trip to beautiful San Diego, California. Travel is easy to this coastal city though the international airport located close to downtown and right next to the meeting hotel.  Be ready to enjoy the following opportunities, all short cab or trolley rides from the meeting site.

San Diego highlights:

  • One of the top zoos in the world: San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park
  • Adjacent to the Zoo, the huge downtown Balboa Park is more than beautiful space and gardens, with over 25 museums and attractions.
  • Sea World promises spectacular aquatic entertainment, as does Birch Aquarium
  • Good old-fashioned American baseball: the San Diego Padres will be at home in Petco Park each night of the meeting.
  • And…don’t forget, the IAMSE meeting always features incredible local scenes and surprises for the Opening Ceremony and the Monday evening banquet.
