Congratulations to the following IAMSE members: David Franklin, Ross University School of Medicine, completed the IAMSE Medical Educator Fellowship Program (this is a correction from the August newsletter). Katherine M. Hyland was promoted to Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics and received an award for Outstanding Service from the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators at University of California, San Francisco. Deborah Barr received the 2011 Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award at New York Chiropractic College. Paul R. Standley has been promoted to Assistant Dean - Curricular Affairs The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. Robert G. Carroll was appointed Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the Basic Sciences at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. This summer, Win May stepped down from her position on the Editorial Board of Medical Science Educator. Since 2004 Dr May served the Journal as an Associate Editor reviewing many manuscripts. We want to thank Dr. May for dedicating her valuable time to the growth and development of IAMSE and to our Journal. Jay Menna, Emeritus Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Arkansas, and founding member of IAMSE and Sandy Cook, Senior Associate Dean, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, have been appointed as new Associate Editors for IAMSE's online journal Medical Science Educator. Medical Science Educator - Library Subscriptions Available While members of IAMSE have immediate access
to all issues of Medical Science Educator your entire
institution can have access as well. Libraries may
also purchase institutional access by IP Address so that all of
the school's faculty will have immediate access to the Journal
without the need of individual passwords or login information.
End of October, supplement 21(3S) of Medical Science Educator has been published. This issue is dedicated to the 15th Annual Meeting of IAMSE in St Petersburg, FL, USA, held from June 18-21, 2011. As tradition, we present all the abstracts of the posters that were actually presented at the meeting. In addition, some of the keynote speakers prepared a short article on the topic of their plenary lecture and the two Outstanding Poster Award winners of this year’s meeting present their work.
