Congratulations to the following IAMSE members: Jonathan Wisco won the membership renewal drawing to receive a free 2011 IAMSE annual conference registration! Get your membership renewals in on time and you, too, can be eligible to win a great prize! Kurtis Cornish, professor at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center, Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology,
received the University of Nebraska's Outstanding Teaching and
Instructional Creativity Award (OTICA) for 2011. Jim Bruzik was recently appointed as Assistant Dean for Medical Student Research at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Jane Gair is the inaugural recipient of the Teaching Award in
Medical Sciences at the University of Victoria in the Division
of Medical Sciences. Gary Rosenfeld has assumed the chairmanship of the Southern Group on Educational Affairs (SGEA). Kalyani Premkumar received the Provost’s award for outstanding
teaching in the College of Medicine at the University of
Saskatchewan for 2011. Senthil Kumar was recently elected as the Secretary/Treasurer of ASPET’s Division of Pharmacology Education and also won the divisions travel award to attend the Experimental Biology meetings this year. Peggy Kim and Amy Wilson-Delfosse received a 2010 Scholarship in
Teaching Award from Case Western Reserve University School of
Medicine for their scholarly approach to the development of
“PharmWeb”, an online curriculum designed to introduce first
year medical students to fundamental principles of pharmacology.
