Short Communications in Medical Research

The Short Communication format is designed to accommodate brief observations that do not warrant full length papers in JIAMSE but are longer and contain more data than Innovations in Medical Education. The Short Communications are submitted the same way and peer-reviewed by the same process as all JIAMSE submissions. The Short Communications are not considered as preliminary communications.

Each Short Communication must have an abstract of no more than 50 words. The text is NOT separated into section headings, but rather is one continuous description of the research or commentary. Materials and Methods are also described in the text. The total Short Communication should not exceed 1200 words and the number of Figures and Tables should not exceed three (3). These communications will be published in the June and December issues of JIAMSE in a section under the Short Communications in Medical Education heading.

The reference section is identical to full length papers.

Copyright regulations:

To maintain and protect the Author’s and Association’s ownership and rights and to afford educators with the opportunity to publish in JIAMSE, IAMSE requires that the senior author assign a copyright agreement to IAMSE on behalf of all the authors at the time of submission of a manuscript.

In the copyright transfer agreement signed by the author, IAMSE grants to that author and all coauthors, the rights to republish any part of their article in secondary publications (print, CD-ROM, and other electronic formats) for which they are authors, on the condition that credit is noted for the original JIAMSE publication. This copyright also extends to cover all artwork, photographs, and any other intellectual property published in the journal.
