Kathryn (Kitty)
McMahon, PhD is a College Master and
Professor of Pharmacology in the Department
of Medical Education at Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center at El
Paso, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She
teaches aspects of pharmacology in the
Scientific Principles of Medicine course,
teaches aspects of medical ethics and
professionalism in the Masters Colloquium
course and mentors students as a College
Master. Dr. McMahon's research and scholarly
activity interests are in cardiovascular
pharmacology, medical education design and
methods, curriculum development and
evaluation, interprofessional training, and
methods to support empathy in students
during their training. Dr. McMahon earned a
PhD in Biochemistry from the North Dakota
State University, is the SGEA representative
to the RIME steering committee at AAMC and
is Secretary of IAMSE.
