Klara K.
Papp, PhD, is Director, Center for the
Advancement of Medical Learning at Case
Western Reserve University School of
Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. The Center
supports students and faculty in their
efforts to pursue excellence in learning,
teaching, and educational scholarship.
After
completing her PhD in Educational Psychology
at the State University of New York at
Buffalo in 1980, she joined the faculty at
Virginia Commonwealth University in
Richmond, Virginia and worked as Director of
Student Testing and Program Evaluation. She
worked in the Department of Surgery at the
University of Louisville in the 1990s, and
moved to Case Western Reserve University in
1996.
She
provides expertise in educational testing
and measurement which includes the
construction and interpretation of
performance-based measures of student
performance, including multiple choice
tests, essay examinations, behavior
checklist rating scales, and patient-based
clinical skills exams.
She
supports externally funded programs by
designing, implementing, and administering
program evaluation outcomes assessment.
Recent grant support includes Clinical
Science Translation Award (CTSA),
Case/Cleveland Clinic Multidisciplinary
Clinical Research Scholars Training Program,
Essentials of Cancer Genetics, and Clinical
Transaction Development Pathway.
