She has worked in
large and small organizations including
United Airlines, R. R. Donnelley & Sons,
FedEx Ground (Midwest), Marquette Bank
(Chicago), ConocoPhillips Company and SOS
Children’s’ Village (Illinois. As part of
her emphasis on positive workplace
interactions she co-founded
CivilityWorks, which promotes civility
in the workplace. She heads her own New
Buffalo, MI-based firm,
Parallax.
She is an adjunct faculty member in DePaul
University’s nationally recognized,
competence-based, adult undergraduate
program, The School for New Learning. Her
online and traditional classroom courses
address collaborative learning,
organizational learning, conflict resolution
and using storytelling in organizations.
Students consistently rate her courses
relevant and her style engaging.
Prior to starting her own firm she worked in
the real estate and banking industries as
well as for a professional trade association
where she established and executed
organization-wide marketing and
communication strategies and was part of the
leadership team, reporting directly to the
president, COO or chairman.
She has conducted workshops and
presentations on using story in
organizations, the power of listening, and
employee engagement. Her articles have
covered similar topics and appeared in
various publications the Journal of Employee
Communication Management.
