Carol A.
Nichols, Ph.D.
is an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Cellular Biology and
Anatomy at the Medical College of
Georgia (MCG). After earning her B.S.
degree from Shorter College and her
Ph.D. from MCG, Dr. Nichols joined the
faculty as a full-time basic science
educator. She teaches and directs gross
anatomy courses for the Schools of
Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and
directs an education elective for
medical students who are interested in
academic medicine. Dr. Nichols is a
member of IAMSE and the American
Association of Anatomists where she
serves as a member of the Educational
Affairs Committee. At MCG, she is a
member of the Career Development and
Education Center and serves as a member
of the curriculum, student promotions,
and admissions committees for the School
of Medicine. Her research interests are
in the area student education. Dr.
Nichols has received several teaching
awards including, most recently, the
Distinguished Faculty Award for Basic
Science Teaching.
