The University of Texas Health Science
Center Office of Academic Computing.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil

His interest in computing began as a hobby
and was developed through undergraduate
programming courses. He joined the
staff of the Educational Computing
Department at The University of Texas
Houston Medical School in 1998.
Mederick assisted in the development and

Woods’ first involvement with multimedia
was a pilot project for streaming live and
archived audio of the first and second year
medical student lectures. Later as
funds became available through a series of
grants, the program was expanded to include
live and archived video of all medical
school undergraduate lectures, grand rounds
for several clinical departments, and
capture of special lectures and other events
important to the Health Science Center
community. Mederick is currently
producing system documentation, installing
new video systems, training new users,
scheduling conferences and maintaining our
