Description
Information overload and the fast pace of new
innovations have changed the traditional
paradigms of basic science education for health
professionals. Technology enhanced
learning strategies can be used to improve
access to information and promote information
seeking behaviors in students. Creative
use of intranet and Internet based resources can
be used to augment teaching programs and enhance
teaching and learning opportunities. We
have developed a variety of resources at our
institution that can be utilized by students and
instructors to enhance their educational
activities. These resources and a variety
of other technologies will be discussed with
special emphasis on student outcomes and faculty
development concerns.
In this one-hour IAMSE Audio Seminar, Dr.
Anderson will discuss the basic strategies for
effective technology enhances learning. He
will give an overview of resources and
techniques currently in use at the University of
Alabama School of Medicine and will provide
feedback data from students and faculty.
Participants will be provided with links to
these and other helpful resources that will be
posted on the IAMSE Website specifically for
this session.
