Regina Kreisle, M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of
Pathobiology and Assistant Director for Curriculum Development at
the Lafayette Center for Medical Education, a regional campus of
Indiana University School of Medicine located on the campus of
Purdue University. In addition to serving as the Coordinator
for Competency Evaluation and Assessment at the Lafayette Center,
she serves as Director for Component II and a member of the
Curriculum Council Steering Committee for Indiana University School
of Medicine in Indianapolis where she oversees integration of
general medical competencies into the second year curriculum for the
Statewide System of Medical Education.
Dr. Kreisle is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and completed her
MD-PhD training at Washington University, St. Louis. Following
an internship in Internal Medicine and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in
tumor biology at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Kreisle became a
faculty member at Purdue University where she has received numerous
teaching awards as Course Director for Human Pathology for medical
students at the Lafayette Center for Medical Education. Her
interests in the field of basic science education include
development of teaching resource databases, ethical issues in the
use of students as subjects of educational research, and integration
of competency-based evaluations in the basic science curriculum.
She currently serves as President of the Group for Research in
Pathology Education (GRIPE).
