Travel Arrangement
Los Angeles is served by the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Taxi
fare is approximately $30.00 USD from the airport to the Omni Los Angeles Hotel
for one or two persons and $15.00 USD (per passenger) for three or more
passengers. Shuttle service is also available from the airport to the Omni
for $16.00 USD.
Climate & Dress
Los Angeles remains relatively temperate year-round, and rain is a rarity.
In general, summers are hot. Offshore breezes keep the beach community of Los
Angeles cooler in summer and warmer in winter than those further inland.
Temperatures in the summer can get well over 90°F (32°C) and smog can
become a problem. Generally the weather is warm and dry in all seasons, with
354 days of sunshine a year.
The attire for IAMSE meetings is “business casual”, as is the attire
for the Social Gala at the Museum of the American West
