Integrative Team Learning in Large Group Settings

Description

Course Number C-4:  The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the principles and methods of Team Learning, a teaching strategy new to medical education that has been shown in other disciplines to promote individual and small-group accountability for learning in a large group, “teacher-centered,” environment. 

Participants will:

 
bullet define Team Learning
bullet compare and contrast Team Learning with Problem-based and Lecture-based Learning
bullet describe key principles and practices associated with effective use of Team Learning in medical education settings
bullet evaluate the evidence about the impact of Team Learning on learners’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes
