| Writing and Evaluating MCQs Using Clinical Vignettes

Description
Course Number C-2: The purpose of this course is to help
faculty improve the quality of multiple choice examination
questions. Through practical exercises and informative
presentations, faculty will learn how to effectively create,
evaluate, and utilize multiple choice questions for their particular
discipline.
Participants will:
 | explore issues relating to the construction of quality
multiple choice exam questions including how to recognize and
avoid technical flaws
 | discuss methods to create and use clinical vignettes for
testing of basic science content
 | practice writing and critiquing questions in a small group
format
 | examine approaches to question evaluation using
performance-based statistical indices |
