It is the goal of our organization to offer the membership, and indeed
all basic science faculty members, opportunities to enhance their professional
skills. We therefore take pride in announcing the establishment of
a new feature to be offered in conjunction with the IAMSE Annual Association
Meetings. That is, introduction of day-long pre-conference courses
which present hands-on experience in topics of relevance to medical science
educators. It is our intent to create and offer courses of the highest
quality in topics not readily available elsewhere, and directed specifically
to the needs of those who teach the medical sciences. This year,
we are pleased to offer the following topics:
C-1
Becoming an Effective Course Director
C-2
Introduction to Web-Based Teaching
C-3
Developing Effective Web-Based Teaching
C-4
Effective Computer-Based Presentations
These four concurrent courses will be offered on Saturday July 20, 2002
from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm. Each will be limited to the first
25 registrants to ensure individualized attention from our highly
qualified instructors.
There will be a separate registration fee of $45 US which covers tuition,
all course materials, lunch, and transportation between the EDUCON Continuing
Education Center and the Fiesta Americana Hotel (the conference venue).
Courses are concurrent, so you may only register for one. However,
we do ask that you include an alternate choice in case your first selection
has already reached capacity. Mark your selections on the meeting
registration form.
To reserve your place in one of these courses, we must receive
your paid registration form for this year's Annual Association
Meeting. We anticipate these courses will rapidly fill to capacity,
so plan now and register early for the complete IAMSE Annual Association
Meeting.
