Audience Response Systems (ARS) are rapidly being introduced in the daily practice of higher education. Software is available and seemingly easy to use. In practice however, many presenters do not use the technique properly. As a result, the didactical advantages of the technique are often not utilized.

This workshop on using ARS is a combination of a short instruction and a hands-on session. Principles of ARS will be discussed. After that, the participants will practice by making their own PowerPoint presentation with built-in ARS functionality. A few of the results of the group will be demonstrated and discussed. At the end of the workshop, the possibilities for data retrieval and analysis from an ARS-session will be discussed.
