C4 Strategies for Getting your Education Research Papers Written and Published

Dr. Uldis N. Streips, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief, JIAMSE
Dr. Floyd Knoop, Ph.D. Associate Editor, JIAMSE
Dr. Jack Scott, EdD, MPH, Medical Education Consultant

The Journal of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (JIAMSE) is becoming recognized as one of the pre-eminent multilingual publications in the field of medical education. With international distribution and recognition for this journal, the session will be of interest to all educators who want to publish. The workshop will relate to how leading edge educational research can be used to create high quality manuscripts for possible publication and enrichment of educator portfolios. Areas on "how to identify and initiate", go through approval mechanisms at the school, write and complete manuscripts, and "submit and revise" will all be discussed and modeled in detail. Participants will be asked to participate. In addition, the session will provide information related to guidelines for authors, including where, how and when to write and submit a manuscript and how the manuscript is reviewed (using JIAMSE as a model for this discussion). It is suggested that participants bring ideas on education research they would like to see developed into manuscripts, actual outlines and manuscripts in progress or completed to this session for hands on evaluation and help.
