C1 - Using Medical Simulation to Enhance Basic Science Education and Provide Clinical Correlations

This session will begin with a broad overview of the scope of medical simulation. A discussion of the different types of simulation and current available technologies will follow. This will include a tour of the Mt Sinai Skills and Simulation Center and a demonstration of the our equipment. Current and past programs to complement the basic science curriculum will be described. Steps in the construction of a simulation lesson will be reviewed and applied to the development of a simulation exercise.
